mp3 noise

I have been trying to record all my cd's to mp3 at 128kbps using a program called freerip (supposedly one of the best). My problem is that some cd's are copying with a fuzzy crackling noise in the background, mainly in the bassy parts. I only have an onboard sound card of my motherboard, however I am told this shouldn't be a problem because freerip bypasses the soundcard. I have tried higher bit rates and other programs and this doesn't help either, and my speakers are fine.

I am at a loss as to what is the problem, please help me.
