Mp3 files wont play or burn to cd

Ive recnetly downloaded some mp3's which are mp3 format file types but they wont play in windows media player or burn, in media player i get error message saying class factory cannot supply requested class & in nero i get message saying the file format is not supported, but why when its mp3?

Sounds like they are protected with some form of digital rights management software (DRM).

Where have they been downloaded from?
