the cd player is a pioneer cd multichanger (2 mnths old), i've tried an mp3 disc on it and the disc is recognised but no tracks or sound.

Windows Media Player will burm mp3s as normal audio tracks - click on "Burn" and follow the prompts.

Nero will convert to wav/audio files that will play on any CD...if you have it. click here has more.

Try ripping the cd in media player.

Open Media Player (im using wmp11) select rip and more options/Format settings/select WAV or WPA

Should read WMA

I think they're called .cda (compact disc audio).
