Mozilla Firefox Profile Manager

Every now and then when I try to use Firefox I get a message saying that Firefox is already in use{which as far as I know it isn't}.
So I either have to make a new Profile name or restart my computer to solve this problem.
There must be another way to solve this as it can become annonying.
