Moving My documents/Shared Documents

Is it possible to move the location of the My Documents folder so that I can have it on a seperate partition where I store all my data rather than buried on the same drive as XP.

You can move it but a better idea is to have your own "My Documents", e.g. my letters, my spreadsheets and the like.

Yes but every MS app looks for the my document, my pictures folders, I want to use these standard buttons but point them somewhere else to a drive setup specifically to hold date

right click my documents and click on properties. in the target field enter the path of a folder on other partition and click apply. you'll get a pop up asking whether you want to transfer the contents to that folder , click yes.
