How can I move the 'my documents' folder to a different drive? I want to keep my data seperate from XP in case I need to reformat again...

Drag and drop the folder into your new formated drive. Then you will need to alter the path for all your programs from C:/my documents to read (new drive letter):my documents.

Why don't you keep My Documents where it is and copy it regularly to the second drive? That way, you'll have 2 copies and great backup.

Ah, found it - right-click, drag & drop, 'move to'.

Thanks anyway guys...

steved - might cause a problem though.

Just because you moved it doesn't mean Windows knows you moved it. It might still default to C:\My Documents.

Download TweakUI for XP so you can change the location within Windows XP and it won't llose your folder.
