moving a folder

  Drakwah 12:09 23 Feb 05

My wife clicked on All Programs and then on the program she required. Then by accident she dragged the icon onto the desktop instead of just clicking. The result being that the folder is now on the desktop and where she would have normally clicked to enter the program is empty. Can you help???

What is your operating system?

Right click the "Start" button and select Open. This will open the Start Menu folder from which you can double click the Programs folder to open that. Drag the shortcut back from the Desktop into the Programs folder.

The desktop is a folder just like any other folder and you should find it in your C: drive under documents and settings then the user under which you are signed on and then you should see a folder called "Desktop". If you expand this you will see the program in question. You can then drag and drop it to any other folder you like.
