Moving 100GB folder from c drive to f drive

I'm about to install a new second 120GB hard drive and want to move my 'My Documents' folder to the new drive as opposed to it being on c.

Obviously I can do this easily in windows by drag 'n'n drop, but will it like it with the folder containing about 100gig of data?

Is there another way I should do it?

Thanks

It will do it (done similar at work across a network). However, get your knitting out or make several sequential cups of coffee.

Also shut down as many processes as possible. Maybe including your AV...

I would suggest that you select the properties of the My Documents folder and use the built-in Move facility.

I have been given to understand that it does a cleaner job in the registry when compared to a straight drag & drop.

Have you cleaned out any dead wood before you move it?

I've managed to get it down to 80gig, which I can transfer in 3 lots of 40,30,10gig to make life easier.

Cheers.
