Movie problem

A relation has sent me some movies (they're .mov files) but I cannot fast forward or backward or use the seek slider bar to start playing at any part of a movie. If I try and do this the player freezes and has to be closed down. I have the same problem if I try running the movies in Quicktime, DivX Player, Windows Media Player, and Real Player. Any ideas? The movie will play if I start it at the beginning and play the whole movie from start to finish. I do not usually have this problem when playing movies on my PC.

Thanks Raven. That vlc seems to work. Slightly odd though in that when I click the slider somewhere the movie kind of continues to run in the old and new places simultaneously for a bit. Eventually it settles down on the new bit. Anyway, it's a good workaround and I can at least do what I want to do. Thanks.
