I am using XP pro and have installed a second Hard Drive, can I transfer some of the programs from the main HD to the second one?? if so what is the best way of doing it??

I am considering a complete format of the main HD but don't want to have to reinstall everything if I can help it. Some were downloads etc

Any progs you installed will have to be reinstalled if you format your hdd.

Data can be easily copied between hdds/ partitions.

Some future info.
If a big hard drives 20Gb or more, then make sure you keep the original .exe after a download, keep em safe just in case.
Also make use of the system restore feature in XP

Also when you load program's to your other drive, there will still be some files on C:\like .dll files etc. that windows likes to be able to see plus there will be references in the registry

Norton cleansweep can backup and reinstall existing programs... [XP system restore must be similiar?]
