Move host computer and laptop away from modem?

  Kaaatt 19:53 02 Jan 07

I have a NTL Cable modem connected to a Linksys router which is connected to a desktop router downstairs.

Then I have a laptop upstairs with a USB adapter.

The thing is that the phone line is downstairs near the desktop computer and I want to move the desktop computer upstairs but still have the internet connection!

I have seen it done but I dont know what I need or how to do it?

Any help appreciated

If you are on NTL Cable what's the phone line got to do with it? Anyway get a USB wireless adapter for you desktop and use it wireless and leave the router where it is.
