How please can I change the sound when someone logs onto Messenger? And also how can I silence the mouse sound, when I adjust the volume control to the speakers on-screen? I have tried various items in settings - sound - sounds, but to no avail. Any advice much appreciated.

In Messenger go to tools/options and sound.

For the mouse go to Start/Control Panel/ Mouse

Look under control panel>Sounds and Audio Devices>change the sound scheme>sounds tab>Explorer. Set the navigation
sounds (complete and start) to none.

you can control all other sounds from there...

C/P sound, speech and audio device, sounds and audio devices, sound tabs, scroll down to windows explorer. click on 'start navigation'. In the 'sounds:' box (below) click on arrow to expand. Choose different sound or 'none'.
