Mouse settings: select by hover, open single click

I used to have an ordinary 2 button mouse, then graduated to an Intellimouse Explorer optical mouse. Somewhere along the lines, I set up the Intellimouse to select a file etc by just hovering the cursor over it, and to open it with just a single click.

I've recently had a new hard drive and had to re-install everything, and since then I've not been able to find where to set up the mouse as before - there just doesn't seem to be the options I require in Mouse Properties.

I know I'm getting a bit past it, but to save me losing any more hair, can anyone out there please help me?

Make sure you have the mouse software installed JCT.

Control Panel/Folder Options/General - check single click to open box.
