I have a HP laptop and bought a pen device and pad to use for it,loaded up drivers etc to try it out, disconnected from laptop, but now the mousepad won't work and cusrsor wont move?, tried a system restore no joy, took off the PC tablet software and still not working, only way I can get to work is to plug in a USB mouse to enable me work.
Any ideas why the mousepad disabled and won't work.

On Vista if you go to "control panel" and mouse and look at device settings (for the touchpad) there is a tick box to disable internal pointer when USB connected. Worth a look !

Is this a Battery Free Mouse Pad and mouse? if so I had same problems with HP Laptop on xp home. I now use it on my Dual boot 98se & XP Home works okay on both on the desktop. Touchpad software and drivers on the Laptop may conflict I did not bother checking that side out
