Mouse Problem

I have a problem with a Microsoft wireless mouse. The pointer randomly jumps to a different screen location. I do not have the snap to option ticked. I am running XP professional service pack 2. The same thing also happened with a Logitec infrared mouse.

If an optical mouse try using a blank piece of paper as a mousemat. Optical mice can be funny about such things :o)

Could be the surface, I'm told, that causes light to be scattered in odd directions, that gives rise to the problem. This came from an IT pro as I had same occurences. Are you using the mouse on a wooden or pseudo wooden deck top with graining?

make sure that your batteries are fresh - tired ones can cause this effect. You might also try changing the channel number in case something nearby is interfering.
