motherboard problem

i was using my computer and it just swithed off. Now everytime i switch on the power the cpu fan nearly starts and a green light on the motherboard comes on and thats it. can someone help?

PSU failure

PSU failure is most likely bet and cheapest to substitute.

Would have thought that if it was overheating,all would be ok when you first boot up after being left to cool for a while.
Had this prob on one of my pc's and a change of motherboard and reformat did the trick.
Could still be the psu though or any number of things.
