Motherboard chipset / latest drivers..help!

I have recently moved to BB with Pipex and have found that the ADSL modem is not automatically recognised when I power up the pc. I have to unplug the modem from the USB port then plug it back in for the pc to recognise it and then I can connect without any problem.

Pipex reckon that the chipset on my motherboard needs updating with the latest drivers. Is this the same as BIOS flashing? Although I have downloaded a driver update in the past for my graphics card and felt comfortable with that process flashing my BIOS sounds serious and beyond me. Any ideas?

Andy

are you saying that I need to update the motherboard drivers rather than flash the BIOS?

  AndySD 18:30 04 Mar 04

Yes ... on the page click here use the SiS AGP PCI-to-PCI Bridge Driver and the USB 2.0 Driver.

  AndySD 18:31 04 Mar 04

Ooops and the SiS mini IDE Driver

Also what OS are you using ? There is a Windows Update patch available for USB but I'm not sure exactly what it does.
