Most recently used list missing from file menu

This is a known problem associated with a program called tweak UI. Problem is I do not have or use that program. In excel I can not show most recently used files and the option is grayed out under the tools-option-general place. My version is office 2003 and I still have the original disks in case a reload is required.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

Try repairing Excel. In Excel go to Help; Detect and Repair

You could install TweakUI click here then apply the changes as per click here (you may have to change the setting then change it back again).

Interesting links and advice

However, I'm using the latest version of TweakUI and there is no such thing as an IE tab or 'Add new documents to Documents on Start Menu' option!

OK, you need the old version of TweakUI click here

I did the repair but no change. Loaded tewak ui and it would not run on my XP system so tried the tweak ui tools and it loaded but did not run in the control pannel or have the ie tab to check (did check all available choices). Now on my way to the microsoft knowledge base 301691, After that will have to learn to live with what I have.

Again Thanks to all.
