More tha 2 sata drives

I'm using an ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard running windows XP Pro.
I have had no problems running 2 drives on the standard SATA connectors, I now want to add another SATA drive but only have the SATA Raid connectors available.
When connecting a drive to it I get a message during booting saying the RAID needs to be configured, is there anyway I can use the SATA RAID connectors as a normal drive or am I limited to 2 SATA drives with this board?

Have tried the ASUS support but as I have not used it for years I cant remember my login and guess what if I creat a new one I'm told the serial number has already been registered so cannot log on to it!

you could mount the new hdd in an external enclosure and use it via usb?

Just the RAID chip in JBOD mode. Check the manual for info.

Just ^run^ the... I mean.

Enter your BIOS screen, and if you do not wish to use RAID, disable it. Then connect your new HDD, and partition / format as normal.

"if you do not wish to use RAID, disable it"

To use a socket that is controlled by a RAID chip, you logically need to have that chip enabled. Otherwise, that socket is unusable. It has always been that way, hence JBOD.
