More help with blocking messager service ads

I posted yeaterday that I was getting pop up ads that I couldn't stop. I downloaded Popup Killer and that works fine for regular pop ups on sites that you visit, but my main problem is with ads that look like they are from an Instant Messenger.

There is one in particlular that I get every time I'm online about every 15 minutes. The only way that I can stop it completely is to move the security in IE6 to maximum and that isn't very practical for the amount of work I do on the Internet.

I've even activated my previously unused Instant Messenger to see if there is any blocking tools in there, but it seems it's only possible to do this when they are online.

I'm running XP with no firewall but Norton Anti-virus.
