Hello perhaps someone could offer advise on this.. on my girlfriends P.C the monitor cuts out just before windows finishes loading. The display works fine in safe mode and on another P.C. It gets through all the start up scripts and the just cuts out whilst the P.C continues starting up. She is running windows 98. The monitor is a VL770FS Super.
Any thoughts?

Are you trying to "push" the monitor beyond its abilities? Try using safe mode to set lower resolution and colors, say 800 x 600 and 16 colors.

Would say the same as Hairy Yeti, also try lowering the refresh rate, you didnt say what size
monitor it was but a setting of 70/75Hz is usually safe.
