i am having problems getting my new(ish) monitor to work.i have just aquired a 21` monitor,i plugged it into my graphics card(radeon 9700 pro),and on start up,the screen is blank but it is on,not in stand-by.i presume this means i have to install a driver, but how can i do this with a blank screen?,as you can probally tell i`m no computer genius,i know a bit,but not much.
please help.

If you haven't the old monitor can you borrow one, and use that to install the drivers.

It should work without you having to install anything. Monitor inf files (sometimes, incorrectly, called drivers) are unnecessary for operation.

Check the contrast and brightness are not turned right down, check the cables are snug, and with no damaged pins.

Otherwise, I would think you have a faulty monitor!

Or maybe you have disturbed the seating of the graphics card when you changed the cable over.
