Monitor Socket Broken

  Kilty 11:44 12 Feb 09

Just wanted to see if there was any solution to this, my moniter socket on the motherboard is broke (no signal to monitor, but monitor ok). Is there anyway I can view my PC whilst I wait for a graphics card to arrive via another means?

Thanks in advance for any help.

No, unless the PC was "upgraded" with a separate graphics card and a built-in one on the motherboard is currently disabled.

You can check the situation for yourself.

Look for an identical monitor socket which would be part of the collection of items from the motherboard itself. Typically sockets for sound and USB and of course the mouse and keyboard.

If there is a monitor socket match, you may be in luck, though the BIOS may need to be set to enable the motherboard's video section
