As part of a new PC i am getting a new monitor, but i am unsure of what to get.

Should i get a good quality 17" monitor and spend more the graphics card or,
Should i get a cheap 19" monitor and spend more on graphics card or,
Should i get a good quality 19" monitor and don't spend more on the graphics card.

The graphics card at the moment is a 128mb geForce 4 4800 with TV out.

Any thought guys??

Rather depends why you are upgrading..
..but with that graphics card, I think I'd spend the money on the screen. In 6 months time a better graphics card will probably be a lot cheaper than the difference between these 2 screens.

IMHO there's no contest - get the biggest and best quality monitor you can afford. Hell,it's what you're going to be looking at for next x years.

Go for the best quality monitor you can, much better to be bigger than smaller! Check the max refresh rate and resolution as well. Not nice having 19" if its going to flash at you!

the graphic card looks ok to me - use Ilyama 900 19" at home for games (Ilyama 902 has replaced it) and the screen quality is excellent for a sub £200 monitor !!!
