Monitor repair in Glasgow?

Hi everyone

My 5/6 years old Gateway 21" monitor broke the other night :-( It was fine when I turned computer on, but I left it for a few mins and returned to find it flicking between standby and on modes, with a horrible "electrical" burning smell which I suspect means a transformer or something has blown inside it. No power surges etc as far as I know which could have affected it.

Does anyone know if a) this is repairable, and b) if so, any recommendations for a place in or around Glasgow?

Thanks :-)
Scott

Don't know Glasgow, but when a friend had a similar problem they went to a TV repair shop and he was able to help. MIght be worth a try.
