monitor question

Hi guys

I have a Dell flat panel monitor 17in, it has a very thin white line about 4 inches long right across the center of the screen, very faint you can see some letters which look embedded in the line itself.

I have had it nearly a year now and it has appeared just recently, is this a common fault and any sugestions apprciated.

have you checked connections? does full pic retun if monitor gently tapped?

Hi the connections seem fine, full pic seems fine, the line is always there, it shows up more on different coloured backgrounds etc, but never goes.

i suspect that at some stage it has had vertical scan collapse which has burned itself into screen or if recently started i suspect an impending vertical scan prob on it's way.

Thanks for your help.

Would this be covered by Dell, or is it something i have to live with?

...get it back to Dell on guarantee. They're not monsters and will probably replace it!

Good luck.
