I have a 17" mitsubishi moniter, which seems to have developed a fault. The display flickers horizontally - intermitantly. There is no problem with the vertical side of things.
I had this ages ago - it was my graphics card. Can you try a new card or monitor or the old monitor on another PC??

"I have to try and sort something out regarding a monitor or graphics card. This may sound like a daft question but if the problem is with the graphics card will there be any advere effects on the monitor if I continue using the machine as it is? "I can't think of one but might not be ideal...
I think you will find it's your monitor, I have a similar prob in that the sides of the display go in and out about Quarter of an inch each side. Bad connection on line output side
I think I agree with woodchip, I have exactly the same problem as him. I have spent ages car re-soldering all the connections on the printed circuit, but suspect it's probably a component, I'll have to wait until it goes completely.Paul.
