monitor output on psu

Is there any advantage / disadvantage to buying a psu that has a mains monitor output? It would appear to save a mains powerpoint for other use, but is there a trade-off somewhere?

Thanks,

It will slightly reduce the PSU output to the motherboard- but don't worry about that . Better still you only need one power cord to the mains!

I'm fairly certain the output from the PSU is just a pick-up off of the 240v input & does not go through the transformer so no power loss to the motherboard.

Skuby is quite correct - it's just like having a double mains adapter, it has no effect on the power to the computer at all.
