Monitor goes asleep after power up

I recently connected my shuttle base unit to my TV, everything was fine and I managed to get it all up and running. But now I want to use my base with my normal monitor again but it doesn't work. My monitor powers up and then goes to sleep after a few seconds. Coud it be in s-video mode or is there any such thing. Would be grateful for help. Thanks!!

Boot the PC while connected to your TV, check in the display properties that a standard display driver is installed and autodetect (plug&play) if it's avaliable is enabled. Also check the resolution and refresh rate are set to defaults. Shutdown then plug your monitor back in and see if it's made any difference.
