monitor for digital imaging & games

I'm going to buy a new system, my main use is good quality digital imaging (at the moment I'm using a 15" CRT) & my son also plays games. Question, are TFT's good enough for fine work and true colour. I use Photoshop with files around 20-30 Meg printing out at A3 / A4 size. I'd like the thin size, but not if its going loose in quality.

I prefer 'normal' monitors, especially for games. I think your son would be less that impressed with a TFT for fast paced games. At the moment I would just prefer to buy a very good CRT monitor, rather than a flat planel.
