Monitor Auto power sensing off!

Hi,

I have just been given my dads old work PC which has been cleaned and had windows XP installed. Everything seems great except when I switch on the PC the Digimate flat screen goes from standby to off instead of on!! This only happens when the PC is left off for a period of time, say overnight.

I have tried updating Windows and all the relevant drivers but nothing seems to work. When I tried my old CRT monitor there were no problems switching on. At the moment I have to start both the XP and 98SE PC's with the Digimate plugged into 98SE and swap the cable once it powers up!

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Alex

Look at control panel>display>Screen saver>power settings. There may be some incorrect settings here

I have had a look but can't see anything wrong.

Have booked it into the my local computer guys to have a look at.

Thanks
