I have a 3GHz Pentium 4 chip, 2048 RAM and the above graphics card. At present I have a 19 inch (non widescreen) Monitor. I am thinking of getting a new Monitor however I am concerned that if the Monitor is too large then the graphics card may not be powerful enough to run games at a decent rate and resolution. I am constrained by the Computer case, which will not allow for any larger graphics card.I do not have the option of SLI either. I don't really want to go to the trouble of getting a new case and all the hassle that goes with it. Can anyone please tell me what size screen can the card handle at say 1280 x 1024 or 1280 x 768

You can always drop the resolution for games.

7600gt will run a 22" widescreen monitor no problem. games should run fast enough at 1680x1050.
