Modem/W2000 problem

Help...I recently had a problem where W2000 hung on boot up & wouldn't go any further. I ended up having to reinstall W2000 in a different directory & the machine boots up OK now. However my modem has disappeared & all efforts to find it have been in vain.....any ideas???

The motherboard is a PC Chips M810LMR which has a built in AMR modem.

All help greatfully received

Do you have a program disc for the modem?

Is it showing up in Device Manager?

If it is, then disable the device, re-boot the machine and Windows should then detect it.

No disc for the modem I'm afraid. It is on board the motherboard & I didn't receive a disc from the supplier!!!!

There is no sign of the thing in device manager....I'm beginning to wonder if it's died & that's what caused the original boot up problem...I'm thinking about just buying a new PCI modem & trying again with that......ny thoughts???
