Should i leave my modem plugged in permanently or switch off each night.

Mine is on 24/7 only gets switched off when I am away for more than a weekend. It ha been running for the last 5 years without a hitch.

Probably best to switch it off. This will stop it overheating and reduce wear and tear. It will also make sure your IP address changes daily which is more secure. Also switch it off if there's a thunderstorm, as things like that can be dangerous if left on during a storm.

One yes one no and now a middle ground. Either, mine is on all the time bar thunderstorms and about once a week is rebooted for a new IP address. Basically mine is rarely off. Make sure it is on a surge protector and keep it in a nice cool dry place it will be fine. There is of course the issue of it using power needlessly but that is up to you. Eitherway it doesnt really matter. If you own it then it may be worth protecting the investment. If not you should just not worry as you are paying for it if you do or dont when you pay your ISP.
