Modem Port cannot be opened.

  Oddjob 11:38 26 Nov 03

I've uninstalled and re-installed the modem, deleted and re-installed the COM ports, and re-assigned the modem to different ports, but when I query the modem or try and dial out, I get the message "The port that the modem is attached to could not be opened.....". It's also stopping me synchronising with my Palm 130, and both were working fine together for quite some time.

Just for reference I'm using a Toshiba Tecra S1 laptop, and connecting the Palm via USB.

Any ideas?

Windows should automatically assign the various Comm and other ports and IRQs.

Have you check the modem and ports' properties in Device Manager and checked that there are no conflicts etc from the individual tabs?
