Modem Logs - why does internet keep disconnecting!

Father in laws pc keeps dropping connection to internet. Have tried 3 computers, 3 diff OS, 3 isps, new cables, using main bt socket with all other phones/faxes etc disconnected. BT have checked line in the house and increased gain. Still no joy!

Following advice from previous thread have started checking modem log to try and discover/prove theory that BT line (poss outside house)is the problem.

Can anyone point to a good source of info on interpreting the modem log so I can tell if the connection is being broken at the other end not at the pc/modem end?????

I recommend reporting a fault to BT 'intermittent noisy/cutting off' on voice calls. They will be obliged to send an engineer to check the whole line, without the risk of getting a bill.
