My son has just installed Fedora Core 3, but finds that his 56k v90 dial-up modem (from US Robotics) does not work - so he has no internet connexion. He thinks that Linux may have a driver for this modem which would solve the problem. Can anyone help please ? Thanks

Nope, linux has no drivers for a "Win-modem" which is what your son has.The only way round this problem is to buy either a hardware modem(USB)which is still likely to be beyond the abilities of a newcomer to linux to install,or switch to a hardwired LAN,as LAN setup in linux is usually just a ticked box during installation.
