Modem dials incorrectly

My dial-up modem ( V.92,Uses Intel 536EP chipset) will not dial up my ISP number correctly. The number listed in properties is correct but the modem dials incorrectly. Eg; the first few digits of the ISP are 14700.... but the modem seems to dial 1471...??? and I end up being told who last called me. I presume that this is to do with the number tones being emitted by the modem. I have updated the driver with the latest from Intel, uninstalled and reinstalled several times, but the problem remains. The modem is two years old but has not been used before. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

Try it without the 14700 at the begining of the number. The ISPs say to use 14700 to override no own number sending.
