Mix of SIMM & DIMM

Hi, We opened up my friend's Mesh 166Mhz PC (How Old????) to install an extra 64MB of SIMM cos the manual said there were 2 spare SIMM slots for edo memory boards, but there arn't, but there does seem to be 2 unused 168 pin DIMM slots. Is this possible and can they be used mix & match style with the edo boards? We took out the 2x16Mb and put in the 2x32Mb edo SIMMs, I think the book said the MoBo could handle 128Mb of RAM so could we add 64Mb DIMM? It's a ASUS SP97-V mobo.
Any thoughts on the matter would be gratefully received. Cheers, Drifter

The old 72 pin Simm Ram can not be used with the 168 SDRAM, it's either one or the other. Obviously you should go for the 168-pin SDRAM as it's cheaper and you can use larger modules.
