Missing Word

  Algy Brew 23:01 25 Jan 05

I have a laptop with Windows XP. When I go into Microsft Word, it asks me to put the disc in and reinstall it. The desktop shortcut is still there but not the complete program. I last used it a month ago and it was okay then. I can't put the disc in as the laptop was a present from my daughter and she has the disc and does not live nearby. I have recently installed XP tuner from the PC Advisor cover disc, which got rid of all the unnecessary files. I hope it did not think Word was an unnecessary file. Any Ideas? From Algy Brew

I tried XP tuner and it didn't remove my copy of word so I don't think thats it. Do as Vog has suggested and try System Restore.
