What is the extension of the files you have downloaded; if they are exe files (programs) then they may be corrupted.

Thanks for your help. The programs were.. Aida 32 Motherboard check and MEM TEST neither of these should cause problems as they are in daily useor am I wrong. What else might it be ?

Are they downloaded as zip files, or what extension have they? It could be that the default viewer for these files has been changed.
