Missing printer driver - Brother HL1030

  nedster 08:22 23 May 13

My hard disc died without warning the other week, but having reloaded from my backup, the PC won't recognise my old (but working perfectly) Brother printer. Brother say they don't provide drivers for this model any more, but as everything was backed up, the driver must be on my backup.

How do I recognise which file I should retrieve from the backup?

I don't know if this article will be of any use.

I went on to the Brother site and got this far - it doesn't say there isn't a driver but I haven't followed the links to the end.

Which O/S are you using?

Running Windows Vista, but Windows doesn't list my model when trying to install a new printer.

From http://www.brother.com/E-ftp/windowsvista/europe.html#1230 2 For HL-1030 and HL-1230 Users: Please use the "Brother HL-1430" driver and install using the "Add a printer" wizard." The driver is available from http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/bsc/public/eu/gb/en/dlf/downloadindex.html?reg=eu&c=gb&lang=en&prod=hl1430eu&dlid=&flang=English&os=74&type2=-1
