missing pin

Just a quick question, can an hard drive work with 1 of the 39 pins missing?It is a Quantum Fireball ES 3.5 series. The pin that is missing is the bottom left as you look at it from the back (opposite end to the power supply.

Why don't you try it and find out. If the pc dont boot then it dont work

Elrond, its a drive i have been having trouble formatting and partitioning in a 486 pc, due to not recognising the drive over 504mb and no LBA etc. I just wanted to know before i start dismantling my new computer to fdisk it before returning it back to the 486.
