missing pictures

occassionally, a webpage loads with blank boxes with a small box inside it, top left, with s mall red cross in it. I presume the big box should contain a picture. Can anyone please advise?

Probably be a file that your computer doesn't recognise. I believe, if you pass the mouse pointer over the broken picture icon the info
bar at the foot of internet explorer should reveal what kind of file it is. (.gif, .tif, etc.,). It may also be the case that you need to download a plug in for Explorer.

If it's a movie file you may need to install
"Quicktime" movie player.

Not a movie and tried passing cursor over missing picture - nothing appears/changes at foot of page.
Thanks anyway
