Missing partition after reformat

  Peverelli 11:44 17 May 04

I have reformatted one of my HDs using the XP disk and took the option to create a 16Gb partition. Problem is that it now shows the other 24Gb as 'unallocated'. As it's a 40Gb drive I assumed I would automatically have a 16Gb 'C' drive and a 24Gb 'D' drive. Is there any way to get Windows to recognise/use the rest of the HD - or have I done something wrong :-(

XP, Athlon 2.4 XP, and a second HD (10Gb, which IS recognised).

Right click on My Computer choose Manage then Disk Management right click on the unallocated space and prartition and format it.

As always, quick and excellent replies.
As always, why didn't I think of that? :-)

Thank you very much, job done.
