  Hooklet1 15 Jul 11

Attempt to install game failed as above file cannot be found

Run the sfc /scannow

System File Checker command to replace a missing or corrupt copy of the msvcr80.dll file. If this DLL file is provided my Microsoft, the System File Checker tool should restore it.

Thanks Fruitbat and Chub_tor

No joy sadly; I'll just put this game (Call of Duty 2) to one side and play one of the others, all of which install with no problem. Thanks for your efforts.

Did you follow steps 4 4.Reinstall the program that uses the msvcr80.dll file. and 5. 5.Update the drivers for hardware devices in the link that I sent you? I think that particularly with point 4 if you uninstall Call of Duty 2 and then run CCleaner both Files and Registry sections before you re-install you may get the game running correctly.
