Missing message in email

I am using Microsoft Office 2003 Pro with Windows XP and when I send an email with a Power Point attchment and write a message in the email the attchment is sent but the message is not. The recipitant receives the attchment with on problems but the explainatry message is lost. This has only happened in the last month so I would appreciate any help I can get.
