Tried turning on old but servicable Win ME PC about 3 weeks ago but get the error message

Type the name of the windows loader
e.g. C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\VMM.32.VXD"

Any advice??

Thankyou for responding but these refer to conflict with scanners which does not apply in our case.

reinstall me over the top, you won't lose any files and it may sort the problem out

boot into command prompt from your windows ME startup disk and type

scanreg/restore
