hi my friend installed wxp he keeps getting message (mms.exe missing)
what is mms.exe and can he download it from the net thanks jc

It is not a valid Windows file and probably a virus. Start, Run. type


and click OK. Then disable it on the Startup tab.

This kind of error message usually means that there is a startup entry taht is pointing to a program (mms.exe in this case) that doesn't exist. It is often the result of uninstalling or removing something. A common cause is removing a virus or adware.

I may be thick, but what is wxp? Do you mean Windows XP or is this something else?

sorry i got file name wrong it should be (mmc.exe) jc

If it is mmc.exe then it appears to be a genuine Windows file

I would disable it using msconfig as it appears to be causing you problems!
