Minimised windows on start up

  Teasle 22:44 08 Mar 05

Could someone help me please with what is probably a really simple question - but not for me. . .

For some reason, when I now go to open a new application or window, it always opens minimised and I have to click to maximise it. It never used to to do this. What can I do to change it back to opening to the size of the screen?

Thanking you all in anticipation.

Right-click on a short-cut icon and open Properties. Open the Shortcut tag and the last but one item is Run:

The drop-down box gives a choice of Normal Window, Maximized and Minimized.

Yours may be set at Minimized. Reset it to Normal Window or Maximized.

Hi, I have done that on the programs in my quick launch and they are fine now but the icons on my desktop don't have this facility so the IE pages are still opening minimised (I use W98SE. If I try to open IE from a link in an email (response to this thread for example), the window will be minimised still.

Close all IE windows except the small one.

Drag the edges to fill the screen (do not use the maximize button).

Close the window using File/Close (not the X).

IE windows should now open full-size.
